Meal Planning!

Last week I didn't meal plan, instead I stole a plan from one of my previous weeks. It was easy for me since I had been sick and dealing with Dax being sick. I needed easy. I knew the meal plan would fit my macros and I already had the shopping list prepared.

I did have a friend say "You eat a lot of turkey spaghetti..." Haha! Well, yes in January I have eaten a lot of turkey spaghetti. But no more! I sat down this week and made a NEW meal plan and grocery list. I still need to tweak it some. It does fit my macros but my sodium is kind of high, mostly because of my deli lunch meat. I am going look for different options at the grocery store. If you have any suggestions, let me know. I want sandwich/deli lunch meat for my breakfast sandwich so I don't want to nix it all together. I will figure something out I am sure!!

Here is my meal plan! Remember, this fits my macros and it is personalized for me and my lifestyle.

Meal Plan
160 grams of Carbs, 64 grams of fat, 165 grams of protein

Breakfast:
Bagel Egg & Meat Sandwich
1 Bagel Whole Wheat
3 Egg 1 Egg White scrambled
6 slices Thinly Sliced Turkey Breast Deli Lunch Meat
2 tbsp. Fat Free Mayo
25g avocado
(Carbs 51/Fat 24/Protein 44)

Snack:
Premier Protein – before gym
Multivitamin
13 grams Alpha Amino XTREME
Buff Bake Chocolate Chip PB – 16 grams
2 Caramel Rice Cakes
166g Fresh Strawberries
(Carbs 38/Fat 10/Protein 38)

Lunch:
Tostadas
2 Shells
½ C Fat Free Refried Beans
5 oz. ground turkey
5 oz. cherry tomatoes
3 ounces shredded lettuce
14 grams shredded cheese
2 tbsp. daisy light sour cream
(Carbs 44/Fat 16/Protein 41)

Snack:
Quest S’more Bar – heated up!
 (Carbs 23/Fat 8/Protein 20)

Dinner:
5 oz. Grilled Chicken Breast
 70 grams Baked Asparagus
 (Carbs 3/Fat 1/Protein 26)

This leaves me with the following:
1g of Carbs
5g of Fat
-4g of Protein
My macros coach told me it is all okay as long as you come within 5/-5g of your macros!

Hope you enjoy and hope this helps you with your meal planning! Have a HAPPY and HEALTHY day...

House Update!!!

No pictures yet... sorry!!! But if you are interested, here is the latest house update!!!

Tomorrow will be one week since we closed and wow, I feel like its already been a month! We have made a list of things we would like to do in the house before moving in mid March and I think I might have bit off more than we can chew... we will see how it all plays out.

Friday night we started painting Dax's room. The trim/baseboards in the ENTIRE house are brown. They are UGLY! We decided to paint them all white. This is the biting part I was talking about a bit ago. You have to tape it all off, prime it, then paint 2 coats of the white. IN THE ENTIRE HOUSE!!! We decided to go room by room and step by step... it helps it not seem so overwhelming.

Back to Dax's room... We are adding chair rail to his walls and the bottom half of the wall is gray and the top half white. The walls were this khaki color and so painting over them with white has been a chore. I am putting on the 3 coat of white today and praying it is enough. The trim and baseboards are complete in his room. Next step will be to hang his new fan (which I need to go buy) and hang his barnyard closet door (which I need to go buy).

We will also be starting Caleb's room tonight... if the rain holds off! We have found this plywood type board that looks and feels like brick but is very light weight. We are going to hang it on one wall and the other three walls I am going to paint a silhouette of a city. His room is done in superheroes right now, so I think it will look awesome. Plus it is something he can grow with the next couple years. Oh and we need to do his baseboards, replace his doors (they are a hideous brown hollow type doors) and hang his new fan (I already bought his).

For our room we are painting it this pretty sea foam green blue color and hanging a pallet wood wall behind our bed. We have started in there some but haven't really been focused on it too much because we want to get the boy's rooms done first. We have picked up all the pallets though... thanks Craig for hooking us up!!!

I think I might paint my front door this weekend... you know, just because! I want to shout to the neighbors... "HEY WE ARE HERE!!!!" Haha! I bought a vinyl outdoor sticker to go on the door that says "Hey Y'all". Oh I cant wait to show you guys all the before and after photos!!!!

Oh and I have been slowly buying stuff for my craft room... shhh don't tell Casey! Seriously this room is my favorite one in the whole house and I am SO excited for sure!!! I will have to post a picture of the rug I bought, it will arrive tomorrow. Lets just say it is FUN, COLORFUL and FLOWERS!!!! #ILoveMyLastName

Okay well that is it for now. About to leave work and headed to the new house to work some more... btw it is very hard to do when you have 2 small kids, one that is sick and stays home 24/7. Thank goodness my mother in law is very hands on and loves to help us out!

Isagenix Cleanse - my experience!

Part of my winnings from the Kelsey Byers 12 week Skinny Jean Challenge was a month supply of Isagenix! Kelsey added me to her private group and sent me some information on how to do a perfect cleanse day. She said that she usually does 2 a month, so I figured it would be perfect to do the Sunday after my cheat meals since I only have 2 cheat meals a month. This past Friday was my cheat day and so Sunday I did the cleanse… here are my thoughts on it.

Let me VERY clear… I H-A-T-E cleanses. Like with a passion. I am not a fan of not eating. This girl LOVES food way too much to drink nasty cleanse stuff all day long. But, since I won this stuff I decided I wanted to really give it a good go. And yes, I have tried Beachbody cleanses, they just aren’t for me.
The day starts off with 1 oz. of this drink called Ionix. I am going to be brutally honest, it was probably one of the grossest things I have ever drank in my life… even worse than the Beachbody fiber drink that goes with their cleanse. I dry heaved a little bit and then told Casey I wasn’t sure I was going to finish the cleanse. I looked at the cheat sheet Kelsey sent me and noticed I didn’t have to drink the Ionix again so I decided to keep going.
The thing I LOVE about this cleanse is you eat/drink something every single hour… honestly I wasn’t hungry and I had to set a timer to remind myself to eat/drink the next hour. The rest of the day goes like this… Cleanse For Life (CFL) drink, IsaDelight (sea salt chocolate) and then 2 snacks (basically little wafers that smell like birthday cake, we will get to the taste later on), then you repeat this a few of times.
CFL – I was nervous to drink this after drinking the Ionix. It comes out to be a real purple looking color which can and can’t be scary… It actually was really good and was my 2nd favorite thing of the cleanse. The first drink (you drink it 4 times in one day) I mixed it with 4 oz. of water because I was nervous about the taste, but as the day went on I would mix it with more and more water because I actually enjoyed the taste of it.
IsaDelight – My favorite thing about the cleanse! This is a small square piece of chocolate that has sea salt inside and OH MY GOSH it is so yummy! I would nibble at it and let it melt in my mouth slowly because I wanted to savor every last bite. Having to eat 4 of these in one day was a breeze!!!
Snacks – These smell just like birthday cake. When I opened the bottle I was SO excited to eat them. I ate one and it was okay but it was kind of chalky and the after taste isn’t as great as the smell from opening the bottle. I didn’t have to choke them down or anything but it wasn’t my favorite thing to eat. You eat 2 of these 3 times during the day with an option for a 4th time before bed, I opted out of eating them the 4th time.
Natural Accelerator – You take 2 of these throughout the day, one in mid-morning and one mid-afternoon. These are just capsules (pills) so they really didn’t faze me any.
IsaFlush – Before bedtime, you take 2 of these capsules. They help you go to the bathroom! If you have followed me long, you know I have had problems in that area. Ever since I changed my macros a couple of weeks ago, I have gone almost daily so I am not sure if these capsules helped any or not but I will tell you that Monday morning I was in the bathroom 2 different times. Nothing to bad but I was going!
All in all, the cleanse was a good thing. Eating/drinking every hour didn’t leave me hungry and I didn’t get bitchy or cranky like I have on other cleanses. Plus I got to eat chocolate! I weighed in Monday morning and was down from my weight on Friday and that even included me skipping the gym Saturday (Dax was sick) and my cheat meal on Friday. The only thing I hated about the cleanse was the Ionix drink but since you only drink 1 oz. of it in the morning, I think it is very doable. Casey is planning on doing the cleanse on his off day (Thursday or Friday) this week. I can’t wait to hear what he thinks about it.
My next cheat meal is January 29th and I plan on doing the cleanse again that weekend.

Guess the date!!

I have set small goals for myself throughout this weight loss journey, I think accomplishing small goals help keep me motivated to reach my BIG goals. First it was to get out of the 270’s, then it was to be able to fit into a certain dress, then it was to get to 250’s, etc. Right now I am working on getting back to ONE-derland!

I am a daily weigher (sue me) and as of this morning I am 212.2!!!

I decided I wanted to play a game with my followers to help keep me on track to hitting 199.9! Below I am going to give you a few pieces of information in regards to my weight loss and my journey… from there, I want you to pick a date that you think I will hit 199.9 or smaller. Everyone who has the date correct, will be entered into a giveaway for some fitness goodies! If only 1 person has the date correct, that person will be the winner. For your guess to count, you must comment on the pinned post on my FIT by Jordan Facebook page only once and your comment must NOT be edited. I don’t want people changing their dates after this gets started.

Info about my weight loss & Journey:
  1. I have steadily been losing weight (2-3 pounds) since August… until I hit a plateau on 1/1/16. I was 212.8 on 12/31/15, went out for a cheat meal, went back up to 215.8 and stayed there until 1/10/16 when I was 213.0.  Since then, I have steadily been losing at a rate of 1-2 pounds a week.
  2. I have changed my macros at the start of the year and have had my carbs and fat intake increased and my protein decreased. To see what I am eating, check out MFP, username is Fitbyjordan
  3. My workout plans are from Kelsey Byers 4 Days of Fitness. I work out 5 days a week (yes I know it’s called 4 days but having a rest in the middle of the week throws me off so I save up my abs for my rest day and do abs instead of resting). I lift every day and do 20-30 minutes of steady cardio 3-4 times a week.
  4. I am having a cheat meal on 1/15/16 after we close on our house (2 slices of New York style cheese pizza and ½ a piece of peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory) and I do not plan on having another cheat meal until 1/31/16… when I am ½ way finished with the current 8 week challenge I am participating in.
Feel free to ask me anymore questions before you make your guess… remember this is all in fun and something I am doing to help keep me accountable!

Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor!

House Update

You guys!!!! We close on our house in SEVEN days!!! SEVEN!!!!!

Nope, I am not one bit excited or anything at all.

To be honest, this whole process has been very smooth and easy going. I usually stress over this kind of stuff but once we were approved, the stress went away. For me at least, Casey has been on pins and needles. He wants to close NOW!

Over the holidays underwriting had a few questions about our child support and a rent payment we wrote a check for, we explained it in an email and everything was cleared. Easy! Then we received an email last week telling us everything is perfect with underwriting, our mortgage company was waiting for a new survey that included our pool (go ahead be jealous, I will wait, haha) and then we were good to close.

Yesterday we received an email from our Realtor letting us know that closing is set for 3pm on Friday the 15th. EEK!!! I work part-time and didn't want to take off that day so we asked for an afternoon closing. We set up an appointment to have a final walk through Thursday the 14th (Dax will be 7 months that day) and Caleb gets to go with us. He hasn't been inside the house yet and is very anxious to see his new room.

So now, we wait for next Friday to get here. I think it is going by VERY quickly and Casey said it is dragging on. I just remind him that he made me wait 13 months from engagement to wedding so he can just shut up! Haha!

Next step after we close... have New York style pizza in our empty house to celebrate!

Then we will start our remodel. This is the part I am most excited about. I want to re-do the kitchen, we need to re-tile the shower in our bathroom, update all of the trim and doors in the house, paint the fireplace, paint the boys rooms, hang plank panels in our room and bathroom, update the laundry room AND... MY CRAFT ROOM!!!!!

I will make sure to blog about everything as we do it. I am SO excited!!!

I hope you all have a FANTASTIC weekend!

Does Anybody Hear Her?

The past few days when I am driving to or from the gym, this song has come on the radio. This song. This song use to bring tears to my eyes. This song would make me collapse to my knees and pray to God that the puzzle pieces would just fall into place. This song would make me not feel alone, that other women feel this way, I mean they wrote a song about it. This song would help me not feel guilty for thinking that I was carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders and I just couldn't do it anymore.

Now this song makes me want to shout out to all the other women feeling lost in the world, feeling like they cant do anything right, that they are running 100 miles in the wrong direction... you are NOT alone! I was there and it took a lot of time (heck I am still fighting this war) but it does get better.

I love the life I was given. Even as a single mom, it has been a great life, hard at times, but great. People would use words like "strong, confident, Pinterest Mom, overachiever, etc."... BUT... the thing no one knew, I was running 100 miles a hour in the wrong direction the whole time. Hearing these words describing me, only pushed me further in the wrong direction. I felt like I always needed to live up to them and the expectations so many set on me without even knowing they had done so. It became exhausting and I would have breakdowns, inside my own house of course because I couldn't let anyone see me like that.

I took a class the fall before Casey and I got married that really helped me open my eyes. I realized that this life I am leading is causing me to actually miss out on my life. When I would stress over the house being 100% clean, I would miss out on making memories with Caleb. When I would pull late night hours for Pinterest worthy parties, I wasn't seeing what Caleb really wanted... his mom to just enjoy his birthday and celebrate his life with him. When I would never go out with my friends because I needed to be 100% perfect on my diet and gym time, I would miss out on building up my friendships that needed to be watered and fed. I am not saying to let your house be dirty all the time, to not throw a great party or to always go out with friends and disregard your fitness goals... I am saying that everything is okay in moderation. There are extremes and I was living my life to the extreme of trying to be perfect. It wore me out and no one around me knew it.

This blog doesn't have to do with fitness, per say, but I believe that when you find a healthy balance of moderation it affects your life in almost every aspect. When you are less stressed about being 100% perfect, you are able to focus more on actual life and actually living it. At least that is how it was for me.

This song. This song will always hold a special place in my heart. This song!

Biceps!

I remember looking at my biceps a few years ago when I was taking my bridal photos and I LOVED how big they were and how strong I was. Of course when you stop working out, you lose muscle fast. Bummer, right?!

Well, I am back on track and ready to get my biceps back! To bad they don't grow on trees!!

The other day (1/1/16) I took a bicep photo and I plan on taking a new one each month on the first. I think it'll be really cool to compare each month and then compare all of them in December 2016!!

Lets do this biceps!!

New Year New Goal Outfit

This past week has been a whirlwind and not because of the holidays... I plan on blogging more about that next week though.

YALL I WON THE SKINNY JEAN CHALLENGE!!!! EEK!!!

Okay, saving that for next week.

Today I am blogging about my new goal outfit! My last outfit that was hanging in my kitchen was a gray sparkly sweater and a pair of green sleep shorts. The shorts fit me and I love wearing them around the casa. The sweater... well that is a different story. It started fitting me better each day but as I lost weight I realized that the sweater wasn't going to be long enough on me. You see, I am 5'10 so sometimes things don't fall on me where I would like them to. This sweater being one of them. My sister in law LOVES this sweater and is short (haha) so I gave it to her. Sad it wouldn't fit me like I wanted it to but I am glad that it is being loved and worn.

Now onto my new goal outfit. This jacket was purchased off a resale page on Facebook back in October and it didn't fit me at all. I tried to put it on my was scared to rip the back of jacket. It has been hanging in my closet since then. I decided to try it on and it fits my arms... It does zip but holy macaroni it is tight.

My goal is to be in this jacket by the time we go to Vegas (March 16th)!!! I will keep you guys posted every couple of weeks...
