Legs for days

Not bragging or anything, but I was blessed with long lean legs! My older sister was blessed with the chest and pretty hair, and my little sister was blessed with a flat tummy and a J. Lo booty… together we would make the perfect woman (if you leave out our crazy personalities, haha)!



Legs are something I forget to focus on because they have never really been a problem area for me. Yeah, I would love to slim down my thighs some but my main focuses are my tummy and my arms.

 

I was told a while back that the more muscle you have in your legs, the more calories your body will burn. I am not sure how true that is, I mean I know that the more muscle you have in your entire body, the more calories you burn… but not sure about singling out the legs like that. Anyone know? 

 

I do know I need to start working on my legs more even if the above statement isn’t 110% true. I need to work on them because they are what carry me around daily. I need to build up the strength in my knee more. I need to slim down my thighs. I want to be a powerhouse and I can’t do that if I keep skipping leg day (or just half assing it).


So this morning, I focused JUST on legs and I plan to do that at least once a week from here on out. Here is a breakdown of what I did today…  It was about a 30-40 minute workout.

 

Warm-Up:

5 minutes stair climber

 

Super Sets:

3 sets of 10 weighted squats

3 sets of 15 weight calf raises

 

3 sets of 10 leg curls

3 sets of 10 round house kicks (each leg)

 

3 sets of 10 leg extensions

3 sets of 10 squats

 

2 sets of 15 abductor

2 30 second wall sits

 

2 sets of 15 adductor

2 sets of running 5 flights of stairs

 

Cool Down:

10 minutes walking inclines

  1. Awesome workout! I would probably say its true considering your legs are the biggest muscle group so it makes sense the more muscle you have in your legs the more calories you burn because as you say, the more muscle burns more calories. Its a cycle I think!! Love the picture.. You look fab!

  2. The reason you burn more with muscles in your legs is because your leg muscles are the biggest muscle groups in your body. You look amazing! keep up the great work!
