House Update

You guys!!!! We close on our house in SEVEN days!!! SEVEN!!!!!

Nope, I am not one bit excited or anything at all.

To be honest, this whole process has been very smooth and easy going. I usually stress over this kind of stuff but once we were approved, the stress went away. For me at least, Casey has been on pins and needles. He wants to close NOW!

Over the holidays underwriting had a few questions about our child support and a rent payment we wrote a check for, we explained it in an email and everything was cleared. Easy! Then we received an email last week telling us everything is perfect with underwriting, our mortgage company was waiting for a new survey that included our pool (go ahead be jealous, I will wait, haha) and then we were good to close.

Yesterday we received an email from our Realtor letting us know that closing is set for 3pm on Friday the 15th. EEK!!! I work part-time and didn't want to take off that day so we asked for an afternoon closing. We set up an appointment to have a final walk through Thursday the 14th (Dax will be 7 months that day) and Caleb gets to go with us. He hasn't been inside the house yet and is very anxious to see his new room.

So now, we wait for next Friday to get here. I think it is going by VERY quickly and Casey said it is dragging on. I just remind him that he made me wait 13 months from engagement to wedding so he can just shut up! Haha!

Next step after we close... have New York style pizza in our empty house to celebrate!

Then we will start our remodel. This is the part I am most excited about. I want to re-do the kitchen, we need to re-tile the shower in our bathroom, update all of the trim and doors in the house, paint the fireplace, paint the boys rooms, hang plank panels in our room and bathroom, update the laundry room AND... MY CRAFT ROOM!!!!!

I will make sure to blog about everything as we do it. I am SO excited!!!

I hope you all have a FANTASTIC weekend!

Does Anybody Hear Her?

The past few days when I am driving to or from the gym, this song has come on the radio. This song. This song use to bring tears to my eyes. This song would make me collapse to my knees and pray to God that the puzzle pieces would just fall into place. This song would make me not feel alone, that other women feel this way, I mean they wrote a song about it. This song would help me not feel guilty for thinking that I was carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders and I just couldn't do it anymore.

Now this song makes me want to shout out to all the other women feeling lost in the world, feeling like they cant do anything right, that they are running 100 miles in the wrong direction... you are NOT alone! I was there and it took a lot of time (heck I am still fighting this war) but it does get better.

I love the life I was given. Even as a single mom, it has been a great life, hard at times, but great. People would use words like "strong, confident, Pinterest Mom, overachiever, etc."... BUT... the thing no one knew, I was running 100 miles a hour in the wrong direction the whole time. Hearing these words describing me, only pushed me further in the wrong direction. I felt like I always needed to live up to them and the expectations so many set on me without even knowing they had done so. It became exhausting and I would have breakdowns, inside my own house of course because I couldn't let anyone see me like that.

I took a class the fall before Casey and I got married that really helped me open my eyes. I realized that this life I am leading is causing me to actually miss out on my life. When I would stress over the house being 100% clean, I would miss out on making memories with Caleb. When I would pull late night hours for Pinterest worthy parties, I wasn't seeing what Caleb really wanted... his mom to just enjoy his birthday and celebrate his life with him. When I would never go out with my friends because I needed to be 100% perfect on my diet and gym time, I would miss out on building up my friendships that needed to be watered and fed. I am not saying to let your house be dirty all the time, to not throw a great party or to always go out with friends and disregard your fitness goals... I am saying that everything is okay in moderation. There are extremes and I was living my life to the extreme of trying to be perfect. It wore me out and no one around me knew it.

This blog doesn't have to do with fitness, per say, but I believe that when you find a healthy balance of moderation it affects your life in almost every aspect. When you are less stressed about being 100% perfect, you are able to focus more on actual life and actually living it. At least that is how it was for me.

This song. This song will always hold a special place in my heart. This song!

Biceps!

I remember looking at my biceps a few years ago when I was taking my bridal photos and I LOVED how big they were and how strong I was. Of course when you stop working out, you lose muscle fast. Bummer, right?!

Well, I am back on track and ready to get my biceps back! To bad they don't grow on trees!!

The other day (1/1/16) I took a bicep photo and I plan on taking a new one each month on the first. I think it'll be really cool to compare each month and then compare all of them in December 2016!!

Lets do this biceps!!

New Year New Goal Outfit

This past week has been a whirlwind and not because of the holidays... I plan on blogging more about that next week though.

YALL I WON THE SKINNY JEAN CHALLENGE!!!! EEK!!!

Okay, saving that for next week.

Today I am blogging about my new goal outfit! My last outfit that was hanging in my kitchen was a gray sparkly sweater and a pair of green sleep shorts. The shorts fit me and I love wearing them around the casa. The sweater... well that is a different story. It started fitting me better each day but as I lost weight I realized that the sweater wasn't going to be long enough on me. You see, I am 5'10 so sometimes things don't fall on me where I would like them to. This sweater being one of them. My sister in law LOVES this sweater and is short (haha) so I gave it to her. Sad it wouldn't fit me like I wanted it to but I am glad that it is being loved and worn.

Now onto my new goal outfit. This jacket was purchased off a resale page on Facebook back in October and it didn't fit me at all. I tried to put it on my was scared to rip the back of jacket. It has been hanging in my closet since then. I decided to try it on and it fits my arms... It does zip but holy macaroni it is tight.

My goal is to be in this jacket by the time we go to Vegas (March 16th)!!! I will keep you guys posted every couple of weeks...
